Here I've completed a painting that of dolphins in a lagoon jumping before a full moon on a star lit night.  It's very mystical and unique.  Hope you like it.  Jason

Sailing on the bay (12"x16"x1/8")

What can I say - I love sailboats!  Certainly it's because of the way they move across the water propelled only by the skipper's skillful reading of the wind and trimming of the sails.  But also the feelings they invoke:  independence, self-reliance, and romance.  I don't know that I caught all of that in this picture, but I tried in this composition of two sloops racing in the Newport Bay with a bright aquamarine sky above the green hills in the background, and palm trees and boats moored at the dock in the foreground.  It's very colorful, and I hope you like it.  Thanks for look.  Jason

Sailboat moored off the beach

(12"x16"x1/8" acrylic on gesso primed masonite, sealed on back)
To purchase, view in Gallery of Pictures.

Wow, this picture pulls together so many of the elements common off the coast of Southern California:  Catalina Island in the distance.  A sailboat floating off the shore highlighted by the bright sun as it begins to drop in the afternoon sun.  Emerald green waves breaking over rocky outcroppings.  And the ubiquitous seagulls.  I think this painting really sparkles, and I hope you like it, too!.  Thanks for looking.  Jason.

"Four Nuts In A Row" (En francais "quatre écrous dans une rangée", In der deutschen "vier Muttern in einer Reihe")

(Completed painting - 12"x16"x1/8", acrylic on gesso primed masonite, sealed)
(Initial underlayer - value study in gray hues)

WOW! WOW! WOW!  I am so amazed by how well this painting came out!  I've included the initial value study, shown on the bottom,  to give a real sense of the before and after in completing this painting.  I have to admit that since I was dealing with shiny nuts (of the nut and bolt variety), I thought about stopping at the value study because in a way the gray hues project the steel of the nuts quite well.  But I'm glad I went on to add the colors, because I think it really POPS!  All the reflections and shadows work great against the background colors.  I love it, and I hope you will, too.  Thanks.  Jason.

"Lifeguard Tower No. 4" (En Francais: "Tour de garde de la vie Numéro 4". In der deutschen: "Life Wachturm Nummer 4")

SOLD

Here's a super colorful painting that I have relisted on Ebay.  It depicts a beach scene typical of Southern California:  late afternoon sun illuminating a lifeguard tower on a deserted beach with attractive homes and palm trees on a cliff in the background (must be a weekday; weekends are always busy).  This is so very unique - I don't know of anything else like it for sale.
